Visit IBSEN Museum & Teater

Ibsen Museum & Teater's main attraction is Henrik Ibsen's home in Oslo. Here he lived the last 11 years of his life and wrote his last two plays. The museum also features an exhibit on Ibsen's life and writing. 

Practical information

  • Accessibility: The museum is wheelchair friendly, with easy access from the street. There is an elevator for wheelchairs and baby prams/ strollers. Ibsen's apartment is partially accessible for wheelchairs, prams can be placed in the hallway outside. The exhibition has good accessibility for both wheelchairs and prams.
  • Toilets and warderobes: Toilets and self-service wardrobes with lockers in the basement. HC- toilet is available at the Ground Floor.
  • Food and drink: It is not permitted to bring food and drink into Ibsen's apartment.
  • Dog: Dogs are not allowed with the exception of assistance dogs.
