Welcome to an exciting journey through Henrik Ibsen's life, works and world – adapted for both adults and children. Here you will find monthly highlights, inspiring lectures, city walks and activities that bring Ibsen's magic to life. From creative workshops for children to deep conversations about Ibsen's influence, we have something for everyone!

JANUARY: Ibsen's Women – Guided tours throughout the month with a focus on Ibsen's strong female characters.

Saturday 18 January: Katti Anker Møller; A pioneer in Norwegian women's history

  • Lecture on Katti Anker Møller; a pioneer in Norwegian women's history. By and with Hege Duckert, author and journalist.

Sunday 26 January: Ibsen for children – Join us in Ibsen's magical world!

  • Mini-drama: Play scenes from Ibsen's works with fun costumes and props.
  • Riddle Theater: Solve quests to help the characters in the story!

FEBRUARY

Saturday 22 February at 15.00: Henrik Ibsen's lasting influence on modern literature

  • Lecture under the auspices of IBSEN Museum & Theatre.

Sunday 23 February: Ibsen for children – Creative workshops!

  • Draw and paint characters from Peer Gynt or The Wild Duck.
  • Make your own theatre puppets inspired by Ibsen's stories.

Sunday 27 April: Ibsen for children – Theatre play!

  • Improvisational play: Create your own scenes with the help of instructors.
  • Costume parade: Try costumes from Ibsen's classic performances and be on stage!

MAY

Saturday 10 May at 15.00: Ibsen and nature

  • Lecture on how the landscape inspired Henrik Ibsen's writing, under the auspices of IBSEN Museum & Teater

Sunday 31 May: Ibsen for children – Music and dance!

  • Learn dance moves and rhythms to Edvard Grieg's music from Peer Gynt.
  • Create sound effects for scenes from Ibsen's works with fun instruments.

JUNE

Saturday 14 June at 15.00: The Wild Duck – A deep dive into truth and the consequences of lie

  • Lecture under the auspices of IBSEN Museum & Teater

Sunday 28 May: Ibsen for children – An adventurous day!

  • The children get to experience magical stories from Peer Gynt with sound and light that enchant.

JULY AND AUGUST

  • Short excerpts from Ibsen's plays are played on stage every weekend at 12.30 and 14.30 (in Norwegian and English).

SEPTEMBER

Saturday 20 September at 15.00: Conversation about Hedda Gabler

  • We play excerpts and discuss power and freedom.

Sunday 28 September: Ibsen for children – Art!

  • Join us and create art for our exhibition!
  • Create stories and illustrations that are exhibited at the museum.

OCTOBER

Saturday 18 October at 15.00: Literary Saturday: The King's Subjects

  • Welcome to the reading and conversation.

Sunday 26 October: Ibsen for children – The whole family makes theatre!
