Program

1st Stop: IBSEN Museum & Theater
Address: Henrik Ibsens gate 26, 0255 Oslo

  • Visit Ibsen’s final residence, now transformed into a museum, where he lived from 1895 until his death in 1906. Here, you can explore his reconstructed apartment and learn about his life and works.

2nd Stop: The Royal Palace
Address: Slottsplassen 1, 0010 Oslo

  • The tour begins at the Royal Palace, located at the end of Karl Johans gate. Ibsen lived nearby and frequently took his daily walk to Dronningparken. Along the way, we’ll take a closer look at some of the statues and pass by Grotten.

3rd Stop: National Theatre

  • Continue along Karl Johans gate to the National Theatre, which has staged countless Ibsen plays since its opening in 1899. The theatre remains a key venue for Norwegian performing arts and Ibsen’s dramas.

4th Stop: The Parliament (Stortinget)

  • Next, we head to the Norwegian Parliament, Stortinget. Ibsen was a sharp social critic, and many of his works reflect political themes that remain relevant today.

5th Stop: Grand Café

  • A short walk from the museum brings you to Grand Café, where Ibsen had his regular table. He visited the café daily to read newspapers and engage with the city’s intellectuals.
