Join us to celebrate the publication of "Ibsen, Theatre and the Chinese State: A hundred years of contestations" by Liyang Xia, Associate Professor at the Centre for Ibsen Studies, University of Oslo.
Few other Western playwrights have been as present in China's political and cultural history as Henrik Ibsen. Liyang Xia tells the story through a century of Chinese stage productions, from a student cast in 1923 to Shanghai in 2019, and through the Ibsen diplomacy between Norway and China. She will talk about the book and read from it.
